Over the past year or so, Noughties fever has arguably reached its zenith (see: bootcut jeans, the Gen X boot-tuck and everyone romanticising “going analogue”). Nowhere is this clearer, however, than in the recent footwear choices of the fashion set, A-listers and on the runway over these past few seasons.
From the return of boho wedges to the unexpected revival of the Nike Air Rift, our taste for everything post-millennium and pre-smartphone only appears to be intensifying. But which are the Noughties shoes making a major comeback for spring 2026? See below for our rundown.
Sharp-toed heels are timeless, obviously, but classic white pumps – the sort that ’00s celebrities used to wear on the red carpet with jeans – are definitely having a moment. See: Rihanna popping out last month in white pumps and leggings, or the likes of Naomi Watts tip-toeing around New York in white pumps with her head wrapped in a silk scarf, or Anya Taylor-Joy during Paris Fashion Week in simple pearly pumps.
While we now wear tracksuits in the office and Uggs to the club, the Noughties were a lot more glitzy and glam in general (see also: “going out” tops, Barry M eye glitter and bedazzled jeans). How to nod to the trend now? Via metallic heels – specifically in silver. If you needed convincing, peep Margot Robbie in silver heels while promoting Wuthering Heights in London – it’s a look that’s made for a big night out.
I mean, you can’t go wrong with a boho wedge, can you? Especially if you’re taking cues from the likes of Sienna Miller, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, who were often snapped circa 2007 striding about in a cork wedge with an iced coffee in hand. Wedge heels have been creeping up on us for a couple of years now (Lily-Rose Depp loves a wedge), though the spring/summer 2026 runways – specifically Chloé, Bottega Veneta and Versace – hint at a major return for big chunky heels like these.
There’s nothing chicer than a heel with a barely-there, slither of a strap. Case in point: Victoria Beckham throughout the entirety of the 2000s, who usually wore hers styled with denim hot pants and bug-eye shades. For her spring/summer 2026 collection, the designer revived the silhouette, so now we can all feel like we’re going wild in Baden-Baden for the 2006 World Cup.
Before trainers and loafers were a staple of everyday footwear, “casual dressing” basically just consisted of an oversized bag and peep-toe pumps.
